For the first time in many years, two countries of Southern Caucasus - Georgia and Armenia - have presented essential blocks of their films to the Moscow International Film Festival (MIFF-31), which takes place from June 19 to June 28.

Georgia participates in the main contest with a thriller "Intermediary" by Dito Tsintsadze; in the contest "Prospects" - with "Conflict Zone" by Vano Burduli about national wars in 1990s; and in the off-contest programme "Moscow Euphoria" - with "Other Bank" by Georgi Ovashvili: a story of a boy born into a mixed Abkhazian-Georgian family.

In a special programme "Cinema of Georgia: from 'Oath' to 'Repentance'", Russian viewers will see 14 classical films created in Georgia from 1946 to 1984.

The Armenian movie art is presented in the main contest by Armenian-Norwegian drama "Interlaced Parallels" by Ovanes Galstyan, and in the off-contest programme "Around the World" - by a family drama by Narine Mkrtchyan and Arsen Azatyan "Prodigal's Return".

The Festival also holds a retrospect of 7 documentaries made by Arutyun Khachatryan in 1987-2009.
