Candidates for Kislovodsk Mayor complain of being pressed by administration
In the course of pre-election campaign of Mayor of Kislovodsk, Stavropol Territory, to be held on May 31, the authorities are actively using their administrative resources, as reported by candidates for the Mayor Boris Sazonov and German Barbashov.
"The election campaign of Mayor of city-resort Kislovodsk passes in the conditions of toughest pressure exerted by administrative structures, which get beyond not only moral principles, but also the bounds established by the Law," Boris Sazonov, a self-nominee for the Mayor, Deputy Director General of the Limited Liability Company (LLC) "Novy Kovcheg" (New Arc) and a member of the "Edinaya Rossiya" Party, said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
His opinion is supported by German Barbashov, another self-nominee, Director General of the LLC "Laboratory of New Technologies and Comfort" and a member of the "Pravoe Delo" (Right Cause).
"The greatest problem characteristic for this pre-election campaign is the engaged administrative resources. It is revealed through a rather severe restriction of dissemination of information. That is, we can't place our agitation materials where we'd like to - in shops, etc. We're rejected, and people say that they're just scared; they're under pressure," said Mr Barbashov.
"Besides, representatives of our competitors pull out our leaflets from mail boxes of citizens, tear them into pieces and throw out. We notified the electoral commission about it - no results. As to law enforcement bodies - it's difficult for them to make responsible the minors who are engaged in this," said German Barbashov.
