IOC Coordination Commission arrives to Sochi

On May 12, the Coordination Commission of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) arrived to Sochi with the aim to assess the preparation process of 2014 Winter Olympiad. From the moment of awarding Sochi with the title of Olympic capital it is already the second visit of the IOC commission to the Black Sea resort; and it will last till May 14.

In the course of a three-day visit, the delegation headed by Jean-Claude Killy, Chairman of the Commission, and Gilbert Felly, IOC Executive Director, will make conclusions about the progress made by the city in building the objects and infrastructure for holding the 2014 Winter Olympic Games, as the "Newsru.com" Agency writes.

Such visits are paid once a year, and after them, the commission members report their observations; this time, the IOC observers will tell about their impressions at a press conference to be held in Sochi on May 14.

Informally, this trip was already named a "decisive" one, since its results will define whether Sochi is capable to hold the Olympiad or not. However, the "Sochi-2014" Organizing Committee refuses to comment such assumptions, stating that the prospects of Sochi Games are the best, as "Rossijskaya Gazeta" writes.
