Authorities of North Ossetia ignore problems of forced resettlers

On April 25, in Novy village of the Prigorodny District, North Ossetia, a meeting was to take place of forced resettlers with representatives of the FMS (Federal Migration Service) and employees of the passport and visa service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of North Ossetia (RNO)-Alania. The news was announced in the talk with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Aslambek Apaev, head of the Committee for Defence of the Rights of Forced Resettlers and expert of the Moscow Helsinki Group for North Caucasus.

"It was planned to solve the problems related to granting passports to forced resettlers. About 200 of them got rallied there, but no meeting was held. The FMS officials failed to appear at all," the human rights defender added.

The forced resettlers are indignant of the behaviour of the authorities and are going to write a letter to the president of Russia.
