Armenian minister of foreign affairs is optimistic before his meeting with the MFA's head of Azerbaijan

A meeting of the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan is possible right after the parliamentary elections; and co-chairs of the Minsk OSCE Group are highly interested in it. Vardan Oskanyan, minister of foreign affairs of Armenia, told about it to the press conference on March 9.

The minister has expressed his bewilderment with the position of Azerbaijan in relation to the document draft on settling the Karabakh conflict, which is now debated at the negotiations. "It is known that a document is on the negotiation table proposed by the co-chairs of the Minsk OSCE Group. The parties, even at the level of the presidents of two countries, have expressed their satisfaction with many of the document items. The Azerbaijanis' position is contrary to the letter and intent of the document," Vardan Oskanyan has stated.

As to the resolution draft "On Frozen Conflicts," brought to the consideration of the UN General Assembly by the GUAM countries (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova), the minister has noted that there is dissatisfaction among the countries, who have their direct interests in South Caucasus, since we should not "put all the conflicts in South Caucasus into one basket," moreover, that the OSCE is handling the Karabakh conflict.
