Litvinenko's poisoning case delivered to the British Public Prosecutor's Office

The British police have delivered the case on Alexander Litvinenko's murder to the Office of Public Prosecutor. The London police could not indicate whether the documents contained any recommendation on presenting charges to any persons.

The fact of delivery of the case to the Office means that the circle of main suspects has already been outlined, and the Prosecution would have to decide whether there are grounds for criminal prosecution in the British court, the "Associated Press" informs.

Russian businessman Andrei Lugovoj hopes for the objectivity of the British Public Prosecutor's Office in the case on Litvinenko's murder. According to Mr. Lugovoj, there is nothing special in delivery of the case to the Office. "It's a common practice for Great Britain, since the Prosecution analyzes the materials collected on a case and takes further procedural actions," he emphasized.

Lugovoj has reminded that last December he met Scotland Yard inspectors and answered their questions as a witness. He expressed his readiness to answer any additional questions on the case if necessary, the "Interfax" informs.
