Skaramella: Litvinenko was smuggling nuclear materials

Eight persons have been sent to the British specialized clinic for getting examined for possible radioactive irradiation with polonium-210, the substance with which Alexander Litvinenko was killed. A total of 68 suspicious cases of possible contamination were investigated, the NEWSru.com reports.

Meanwhile, The Independent reports with a reference to Mario Skaramella that Litvinenko who died in London from poisoning with polonium-210 was busy organizing contraband deliveries of nuclear materials from Russia on assignment of the FSB (Federal Security Bureau). In the words of the Italian, Litvinenko told him that he was organizer of deliveries of radioactive materials to Zurich in 2000, the "Gazeta.Ru" reports. However, Litvinenko's friends have stated that they knew nothing about this activity of the ex-FSB employee.

The "Caucasian Knot" reported that on November 1 Alexander Litvinenko had a meeting with his informant Mario Skaramella. Litvinenko told later that Skaramella had given him certain documents containing data on the killers of journalist Anna Politkovskaya.
