Abu Havs, Al-Qaeda emissary, killed in Dagestan

Abu Havs, Al-Qaeda emissary for North Caucasus, and four his helpers were killed in Khasavyurt (Dagestan). Abu Havs was thought to be one of the organizers of hostage-taking at Beslan School No. 1.

It is reported that one FSB agent has suffered during the storm operation. He was slightly wounded, the "Novye Izvestia" informs.

Abu Havs was born in 1973 in Jordan, and in 1995 he arrived to Chechnya as a mercenary. He was a fighter in sharif Hattab's group, where he held the position of a trainer; and after liquidation of Hattab, Abu Havs became the right hand of new sharif Aby Valid. When Russian special agents liquidated the latter too, Abu Havs became in fact one of militants' commanders. Al-Qaeda nominated Abu Havs to be deputy military sharif in North Caucasus. He controlled main financial flows directed to Chechen militants.

This August, Abu Havs was announced into international search. According to the data presented by the FSB Department for Dagestan, Abu Havs was preparing a series of terror acts in the territory of Dagestan.
