Applicant to the European Court fears that her relatives were killed by Russian servicemen in Chechnya

Tomorrow, on November 9, 2006, the European Court for Human Rights will make its decision on disappearance in Chechnya of father and son Imakaevs. The case "Imakaev versus Russia" concerns detention and disappearance of Said-Hussein Imakaev and subsequent disappearance of his father Said-Magomed Imakaev, which happened after the parents of Said-Hussein had applied with a complaint to the European Court.

Ms. Marzet Imakaeva, applicant to the Strasburg Court, mother and wife of the men who have disappeared in Chechnya, believes that the Court would decide in her favour. "But is it a victory?" she told sadly to the correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot" by telephone from Boston (USA), where she had to emigrate with the rest of her family in March 2004 for safety reasons.

"I applied with a complaint in a hope that it would help to bring my son back. There's no money to compensate the loss of my son and husband. I'll consent to any version that may be suggested by the authorities of Russia - why and who took them - just in order to get them back. When I knew the date of making the decision by the European Court, I just went sick, since I'm afraid I'll be told nothing new tomorrow. I'm afraid my son and husband were killed," the applicant is afraid.
