Victims under Ulman's case accuse the convicts' advocates of protracting the process

Today, the North-Caucasian Military Tribunal convoked the parties of Ulman's case to take part in the preliminary hearing, however, the court session failed. The reason was the illness of Natalia Vaschenko, one of the convicts' lawyers. The next court session was appointed on October 12. However, most probably, it will fail either. It is supposed that Roman Krzhechkovskiy, Ulman's lawyer, will be busy in another process on that day.

Representatives of the victims assert that the convicts' advocates are deliberately protracting the process.

Captain Eduard Ulman, warrant officer Vladimir Voevodin, lieutenant Alexander Kalaganskiy and major Alexei Perelevskiy are accused of a murder, deliberate destruction of property and excess of powers, causing heavy consequences. According to state prosecution, in January 2002, not far from the village of Dai, Shatoiskiy District, the Chief Reconnaissance Agency ("GRU") special force fighters, acting under a special operation aimed at seizing Hattab, detained a UAZ truck with six citizens of Chechnya. The "spetsnaz" fighters swept the truck, as a result of which one passenger was shot dead and two others wounded. The Chechens had proper documents, nevertheless, the survived Chechens were murdered, and their bodies burnt down together with the truck.
