Insanov, ex-Minister of Health of Azerbaijan again transferred to prison cell from hospital

Tonight, Ali Insanov, ex-Minister of Health of Azerbaijan has again been transferred from the Ministry of Justice hospital to the pre-trial prison of the Ministry of National Security. This has been reported to journalists by Torgul Babaev, his lawyer. He notes that he does not know any reasons for returning Insanov to the pre-trial prison.

Insanov was placed to the prison hospital in May. According to the lawyer, he was only examined there and no medical treatment was performed.

Notably, the military medical commission of the MNS of Azerbaijan completed Ali Insanov's medical expert examination before February 16, 2006. Insanov's diagnosis included hypertension, displacement of a spinal disk and a number of other diseases. In February-March he was hospitalized but refused to undergo a surgical operation in the prison hospital.

Ali Insanov was arrested on October 21, 2005 and charged with an attempt of coup d'etat and preparation of mass disturbances in Azerbaijan. As Zakir Garalov, General Prosecutor of Azerbaijan, stated earlier before journalists, the involvement of ex-ministers Ali Insanov and Farkhad Aliev in the attempt of coup d'etat had been fully established.
