Mayor of Volgograd bans gays' parade in city centre

Head of Volgograd Roman Grebennikov has forbidden the gay-parade, which local sexual minorities had planned to hold today without sanction of the authorities in the city centre.

The press service of the administration of Volgograd also told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that in this context the Mayor had instructed the committee for public safety of administrative bodies to make responsible everyone who would break public order in the place, where gays were going to hold their parade.

At midday in Chuikova Street, where the action had to take place, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent saw only groups of militiamen and idly wondering young people, who did not express their sexual orientation in any way. The gay-parade failed in Volgograd.
