Car with 4 million contraband dollars detained in Rostov Region
In the Rostov Region, in the Russian-Ukrainian border, a car was detained in which two citizens of Ukraine tried to carry four million US dollars as contraband.
"We meet this scale of contraband for the first time. Now, the work is underway to establish the owner of this sum of money and the purpose it was intended for," said Alexei Grin, spokesman of the Operative-Search Bureau of the Department of Russian MIA for the SFD (South Federal District).
According to operative agents, the culprits made the import of the huge currency sum through the Donetsk customs post located in the Rostov Region. After the suspects crossed the border on February 8, a decision was made to detain them.
According to the press service, the detainees are residents of Ukraine, the edition named "Northern Caucasus" reports. According to the version of the investigation, they are members of an international criminal grouping. A criminal case has been initiated, the TV Channel "Don-TR" reports.
