Georgian Laborites start impeachment procedure against Mikhail Saakashvili

The Georgian Labor Party has started to collect signatures for impeaching Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili. Shalva Natelashvili, leader of Laborites, stated at the December 29 press-conference that the parliamentary group of the party had started the procedures necessary for impeaching Saakashvili.

"The criminal policy of Saakashvili results in the split of Georgia. The parliamentary group of the party which has cancelled MP mandates fulfills its national constitutional obligation and, for the first time in the history of the dictatorship, starts collecting signatures for impeaching Saakashvili", cites the agency Georgia Online the words of Natelashvili.

Already on December 30 the letter on impeachment may be delivered to the chair of the parliament where there are deputies who are not happy with the policy of the current Georgian leadership, reports "Channel One".

In conformance with the law, states Natelashvili, signatures of one-third of deputies which are necessary for starting the impeachment procedure will be handed over to the Supreme and the Constitutional courts.
