Dry-cargo ship with crew of Azerbaijanis and Georgians receives a hull breach in Black Sea

Today in the morning, a dry-cargo ship "Kardelia" flying the flag of Cambodia and sailing to Georgia with three thousand tons of wheat was damaged near the Black Sea port Kavkaz in the Krasnodar Territory. 12 citizens of Azerbaijan and Georgia are onboard the ship.

"Steam-ship 'Kardelia' was going from Eisk to Poti following ice-breaker 'Krutov', but in the vicinity of port Kavkaz received a hull breach. Now, the crew decided to run the ship aground for making repairs," the law enforcement bodies of the region have reported.

The hole in the hull of the dry-cargo ship was detected after passing through the icing zone in the Azov Sea. The SOS signal was received by port "Kavkaz" at five in the morning.

The roll of the ship makes five degrees. According to the portal YUGA.ru, the crew of the ship makes 12 persons: seven citizens of Azerbaijan and five - of Georgia.

The "Georgia-Online" reports that now a towing hawser is hurrying to help the dry-cargo ship. The crew of "Kardelia" is pumping off water; there is no threat to the life of the seamen, the RIA "Novosti" reports with reference to a source in the port.
