Surgeon accused of child's death tried in Stavropol Territory

The Pyatigorsk City Court, Stavropol Territory, considers a criminal case against a surgeon of the Municipal Establishment of Public Health (MEPH) "Central City Hospital", accused of manslaughter because of improper execution of his professional duties.

In the opinion of the inquiry, the surgeon of the MEPH "Central City Hospital" failed to make a proper surgery of a boy of 5; the boy died one month later.

Inspectors think that the surgeon made operation on "juvenile Sh." with tactical and technical blunders, although he had sufficient professional experience and qualification for making a tactically correct surgery aimed to remove the inflamed appendix; later these blunders entailed the death of the child."

Now, the investigation goes on. The next court session will take place on January 30.
