Krasnodar, Sochi and Astrakhan took part in All-Russian "Day of Anger"

Quite a number of Russian regions were planning to hold social protest actions on October 25 within the agenda of the All-Russian "Day of People's Anger". In particular, the action was held today in the cities of Astrakhan, Krasnodar and Sochi.

In the centre of Astrakhan, a protest action was held opposite the building of the company named "AstrakhanRegionGas". The protesting held posters and shouted slogans: "Bread to country for human price!", "No to price and tariff growth, oil and gas belong to people!" and "Authorities! What bad have people done to you?" During the action, salt and matches, as symbol of the social and economic crisis wondering over the country, were given out to passers-by.

In Krasnodar, within the action "Day of People's Anger", 15 young men unfolded the posters: "Authorities, get under public control!", "Krasnodar residents are against renaming their city" and "Crisis advancing - make crackers!" In parallel with the picket, practically in the same venue, another action was held by Krasnodar pensioners - in support of the course of President Dmitri Medvedev and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, the YUGA.Ru website reports.

In Sochi on October 25, within the All-Russian "Day of Anger", a rally was held "In defence of Sochi residents-victims of lawlessness, arbitrariness, corruption of city officials, judges and MIA workers". About 200 persons took part in the rally, the website of the "Collective Action" Institute reports. The appeals of the organizers of the rally speak about repressions, provocations, judicial arbitrariness and lawlessness of Sochi residents and mass violations of citizens' rights.

  • Two natives of Northern Caucasus injured in shootout near “Wildberries” office in Moscow

    A shootout took place near an office of the “Wildberries” Company in the centre of Moscow. As a result, at least one person has been killed and several others have been wounded, sources report.   • In Volgograd, court recognizes absence of HIV therapy in prison hospital

    The Central District Court of Volgograd awarded prisoner Ruslan Mitrofan compensation in the amount of 1000 roubles, recognizing that the administration of a prison hospital in Volgograd violated the prisoner’s right to receive medical care by not providing him with an HIV medicine.
