US authorities disappointed with long investigation of Khlebnikov's murder

The authorities of the USA are disappointed with too long investigation into the murder of the editor-in-chief of the Russian version of the Forbes Magazine Paul Khlebnikov and call on the Russian government to speed up the process.

The "Caucasian Knot" has already informed that in mid-June the Presidium of the Supreme Court of Russia denied the presentation of the General Prosecutor's Office on the case about Paul Khlebnikov's murder of Floor and returned the case back to the Office.

On July 10, Washington promulgated a statement on the occasion of the investigation delay running that "the US Government respects the attention paid by Russian counterpart to the case at the highest level, but still it is disappointed with procrastination in the process of bringing Paul Khlebnikov killers to justice."

By emphasizing that this week "is the fourth anniversary of violent murder of American citizen Paul Khlebnikov", editor-in-chief of the Forbes-Russia Magazine, the US Department of State informs that "President Bush's administration "confirms its readiness to render assistance to Russian authorities in punishing the criminals who committed this monstrous crime," the RIA "Novosti" reports.
