Ingush authorities react to beating of regional natives in Kameshkovo
Mikail Ilezov, a Senator, and Magomed Malsagov, the republic's plenipotentiary envoy under the Russian President, have stated that the situation is under the control of the authorities of Ingushetia and the Vladimir Region. The position of the regional authorities was voiced out after the reaction of Adam Delimkhanov, a State Duma MP from Chechnya.
Over a dozen people took part in the attack on natives of Ingushetia committed on May 6 in the town of Kameshkovo in the Vladimir Region; some of them were armed with sticks, others threw stones and bottles. According to eyewitnesses, the conflict "was accompanied by nationalist chants," the MP Adam Delimkhanov has stated. One of the coordinators of the "Russian Community" association said that the attackers were "just local residents, ordinary men," and the reason for the conflict was "inappropriate attention" from people from the Caucasus to female residents of the city.
Magomed Malsagov, the Plenipotentiary President’s Envoy in Ingushetia, met with victims’ relatives. "The situation will be analyzed in strict accordance with the law, and perpetrators will be punished. Since yesterday evening, I have been in touch with the Permanent Representative Office of the Vladimir Region; my colleagues have told me that our guys are safe, their lives are not in danger. I kindly ask not to incite interethnic hatred and not to draw premature conclusions," says the today's message posted in Magomed Malsagov's Telegram channel.
The situation with the attack on workers from Ingushetia in Kameshkovo is under the control of Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov, the head of Ingushetia, said Mikail Ilezov, Senator from Ingushetia. According to his story, quoted by the "Serdalo" newspaper, regional authorities have given instructions to study how objectively the inquiry into the circumstances of the brawl is being conducted. Mr Ilezov has added that Andrei Shokhin, a Senator from the Vladimir Region, is also involved in the issue.
It should be noted here that Ingush authorities have voiced out their position already after Delimkhanov's reaction to the conflict. "We’ll take all measures to defend justice and protect victims’ rights. (...) I call on law enforcement bodies to immediately react to this situation and conduct an objective inquiry," Mr Delimkhanov, a State Duma MP from Chechnya, has promised.
