Kadyrov boasts of his personal participation in development of “Akhmat-mobile”

The Russian Ministry of Defence did not want to call the new type of armoured vehicle an “Akhmat-mobile”, noted Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of Chechnya. He has stated that he personally participated in changing the design of the armoured vehicle and insisted on its name. Alexander Zakharov, the general director of the manufacturing plant, called the changes in the design of the armoured vehicle insignificant.

Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov reports about his personal participation in changing the design of the “Akhmat-mobile”, which has already been launched into serial production, the “RIA Novosti” news agency reports.

According to the Ramzan Kadyrov’s report, an “Akhmat-mobile” requires less time in case of its repair. “If a ‘Typhoon’ is being repaired during three months, then an ‘Akhmat-mobile’ can be repaired within three days. Its spare parts can be found right away,” the “RIA Novosti” news agency quotes Ramzan Kadyrov as saying.

The leader of Chechnya stated on air at the “Rossiya 1” TV Channel that the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) initially tried to prevent the vehicle from being named an “Akhmat-mobile”, but then “we agreed that we would call this vehicle ‘Akhmat-mobile’, and ‘Akhmat’ would be written on its hood.”

Earlier, the leader of Chechnya has noted that the “Akhmat-mobile” is a manoeuvrable vehicle which purpose is to move quickly in urban conditions while ensuring maximum safety for its crew. The development of the vehicle began in March 2022.

The general director of the “Remdiesel” plant, in turn, has noted that the changes are minor, that is, the vehicle has not been changed fundamentally, and “modifications based on the results of the vehicle’s operation during the special military operation (SMO) zone” have been made, the TASS reports.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on January 20, 2023, a source reported that the authorities of Chechnya announced the intention to begin producing “Jihad-machines” for military purposes. A similar name is used for vehicles used by suicide bombers.
