Blogger Alibekov placed into Kazan SIZO

Askhabali Alibekov, a blogger from Novorossiysk, suspected of using violence against a policeman, has been placed into the SIZO (pre-trial prison) in Kazan, the human rights project "OVD-Info"* has informed in his Telegram channel.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 4, a court in Kazan ruled to arrest Alibekov for two months. According to investigators, during the detention, he hit the policeman in the leg.

Let us remind you that on February 20, law enforcers detained Alibekov at the Kazan railway station. According to policemen, they invited him to go to the police station to draw up a protocol on the article about discrediting the Russian Army, but he refused. According to the blogger, they immediately started beating him up. Then, the court arrested Alibekov for 15 days, finding him guilty of disobeying law enforcers.

After the detention, law enforcers beat Alibekov up so severely that he had bruises, said his daughter Zalina.

On March 23, 2023, Alibekov was sentenced to a year and two months of freedom deprivation: the court concluded that the video placed by the blogger in his YouTube channel discredited the Russian Army. On November 10, he was released.
