Chechen Ombudsman reports his second visit to Suleimanova, who fled from her family

Chechen Ombudsman Mansur Soltaev again visited Seda Suleimanova and reported that she was in a good mood. Meanwhile, in the video that Mansur Soltaev posted on his Telegram channel, Seda Suleimanova simply escorts him to the gate of her parents’ house, with the music in the video.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on August 29, Mansur Soltaev reported about his meeting with Seda Suleimanova. The Chechen Ombudsman stated that the young woman was not in danger. At the same time, the “SK SOS Crisis Group”* reported that Mansur Soltaev posted not a video of their conversation, but only a photo in which human rights defenders noted a mark similar to a hematoma on the young woman’s neck.

On August 23, 26-year-old Seda Suleimanova, who had fled from Chechnya to Saint Petersburg, and her partner were visited by the police. Law enforcers took the young people to a police station, explaining that the young woman was suspected of stealing jewellery. Then the guy was released, and Seda Suleimanova was sent to Grozny.

In his Telegram channel, the Ombudsman of Chechnya reported about his second visit to Seda Suleimanova. According to his report, the young woman met him in a good mood and denied “all the rumours associated with her.”

The “SK SOS Crisis Group”* noted in its Telegram channel that Seda Suleimanova was still not allowed to contact human rights defenders, as well as her fiancé.

Let us remind you that in October 2022, Seda Suleimanova addressed the “SK SOS Crisis Group”*, as she was afraid that her family members could kill her, thus committing an “honour killing”, since her relatives from Grozny were not satisfied with her lack of religiosity.
