At debates, Zarema Musaeva denies charges

During the debates held at a court session in Grozny, Zarema Musaeva has declared her innocence of fraud and assault on a law enforcer.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 15, at the Akhmatov District Court of Grozny, the parties' debates on Musaeva's case began. The prosecutor stated that Musaeva's guilt of committing a fraud and attacking a law enforcer had been proved by witnesses' testimonies and an expert examination.

Musaeva spoke at the beginning of the session. "I did nothing that the prosecutor stated; and I refuse to plead guilty. Because of my poor health, I ask my advocates to present my position," she has stated.

Let us remind you that on January 20, 2022, Chechen law enforcers abducted Zarema Musaeva, the wife of Saidi Yangulbaev, a former federal judge, from their apartment in Nizhny Novgorod. In February this year, she complained about the deterioration of her health at the SIZO (pre-trial prison), where she is kept; on June 5, her son, Abubakar Yangulbaev, reported that his mother had lost the ability to move independently. On June 10, it became known that Musaeva was denied hospital treatment. On June 15, the prosecutor demanded 5.5 years in colony for her.
