Chechen lawyer Abubakar Yangulbaev states sharp deterioration in his mother's health in SIZO

After a 1.5-year-long stay at the Chechen SIZO (pre-trial prison), Zarema Musaeva has lost the ability to move independently. After the deterioration of her health, she was hospitalized, her son Abubakar Yangulbaev has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Zarema Musaeva, the wife of Saidi Yangulbaev, a former Russian federal judge, was abducted on January 20, 2022, from their apartment in Nizhny Novgorod. The court in Grozny has been considering her case since June 2022. In February, 2023, she complained about the deteriorating health at the SIZO.

Zarema Musaeva is accused of assaulting a law enforcer and is a figurant in a fraud case.

"My mother was hospitalized; during 18 months at the SIZO, her eyesight has deteriorated, and she practically cannot move because of her progressive back pain. She is transported in a wheelchair; she cannot go for walks; and she can hardly attend court sessions. The most dangerous phenomenon is her second-degree diabetes mellitus, which requires constant monitoring and treatment," Abubakar Yangulbaev wrote in his Telegram channel.

"She is simply killed in jail; and this is without any guilt," he has added.

Let us remind you that after Musaeva's arrest, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, accused the Yangulbaevs of organizing a terrorist network and said that their place is "in prison or under soil." On February 1, 2022, Adam Delimkhanov, an adviser to Kadyrov, threatened to kill the Yangulbaev family. After that, Saidi Yangulbaev and his children left Russia.
