Resident of Ingushetia suspected of discrediting the Russian Army

The suspect is accused of posting statements in a social network aimed at discrediting the use of the Russian Armed Forces; this became the reason for initiating a criminal case against him.

In November 2022, the suspect posted comments aimed at discrediting the use of the Russian Armed Forces.

A case has been opened against him under the article "Public actions aimed at discrediting the use of the armed forces of the Russian Federation", the Investigating Department for Ingushetia of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has informed in its website. The maximum penalty under the article is imprisonment for up to three years.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that a criminal case on spreading fakes about the Russian Army was initiated against a female resident of the city of Kaspiysk. Investigators have treated her comment posted in a social network as discrediting the Russian Armed Forces.

On March 7, the court extended the arrest of the blogger, Askhabali Alibekov, accused under the criminal article on discrediting the Russian Army.
