Military from Vladikavkaz sentenced to year in colony for refusal to take part in SMO

Nikita Chereshnev, a contract military serviceman from North Ossetia, was found guilty of leaving his unit without permission and refusing to perform the "special missions" in Ukraine.

According to investigators, the acting commander of the tank battalion, where Chereshnev had served, has explained that in late May this year, Nikita refused to perform the mission at the special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine. The unit was temporarily stationed in the Crimea, from where it was supposed to go to Ukraine. In Simferopol, the military commandant issued a warrant to Chereshnev. The latter has admitted his guilt of refusal to perform combat missions, therefore, he was ordered to return to the place of his unit's permanent deployment. Instead, he went to his parents, where he stayed from June 5 to August 16, the "Kavkaz.Realii"* has reported.

Earlier, Chereshnev had served in South Ossetia and is characterized positively in his service. The Vladikavkaz garrison military court has sentenced him to a year in a colony.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported earlier about the stamps indicating militaries' unreliability that are imprinted into their military certificates for their refusal to take part in the SMO. In August, Maxim Grebenyuk, a human rights defender, informed that there were many such cases, but only one reached the court - the case of Zakhar Kukarenko, who had refused to go to Ukraine.
