Three youngsters apologize for video with dance at entrance to Grozny

A young man who danced in a pink dress at the entrance to Grozny, as well as two of his acquaintances involved in filming a video about it, have apologized to the Muslims. One of them has added that he was already punished for his act.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the above video posted on the Instagram on August 24, in which a young man in a pink dress dances at the entrance to Grozny, had angered social network users. Some commentators stated that the young man should apologize for his behaviour, while others noted that tourists should be explained the behaviour rules in Chechnya.

The "Readovka" Telegram channel has posted a video with a public repentance of the three youngsters involved in filming the dance.

"I want to apologize for that video. We did it without thinking and controlling ourselves," says the young "dancer".

"This will never happen again; I don't advise anyone to do this," the second young man has added.

The third youngster has pronounced a similar apology. "I apologize to all Muslims ... I made this most stupid mistake and I was punished for it," he said, while under his eye a spot that looks like a bruise can be seen.

Highlanders' traditions reject men's putting on women's dresses, even if the aim of such cross-dressing is an escape, joke or some other trick, Alexei Malashenko, an expert on the Caucasus, said in his comment on the fashion show organized in Makhachkala with the participation of young men in effeminate images that outraged Dagestani residents.
