Kadyrov boasts of his rank of Colonel General

Russian President Vladimir Putin has awarded the leader of Chechnya the rank of Colonel General. This has been reported by Ramzan Kadyrov himself on his Telegram channel. At the same time, the leader of Chechnya promised to justify “the trust given in advance.”

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on April 7, Sergey Zakharov, Commander of the North-Caucasian District of the Russian National Guard Troops, handed over to Ramzan Kadyrov the epaulettes of Lieutenant General. Political analysts have associated the awarding of the title of Lieutenant General to Ramzan Kadyrov and the awarding of the Order of Alexander Nevsky with the role of the leader of Chechnya in the special military operation in Ukraine.

On October 1, Ramzan Kadyrov severely criticized the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) for its decision to withdraw the troops from Krasny Liman, a town in the Donetsk Region. The leader of Chechnya also criticized the general who led the Krasny Liman direction and also proposed declaring martial law in the border areas and using low-yield nuclear weapons.

This is not the first time Ramzan Kadyrov has criticized the decisions of the Russian Ministry of Defence. So, on September 22, the leader of Chechnya expressed his dissatisfaction with the exchange of prisoners of war (POWs) organized by the Russian MoD and the FSB.

Ramzan Kadyrov holds the titles of Honorary Academician of the Chechen Academy of Sciences, Honorary Professor of a number of Russian universities, Honorary Citizen of Chechnya, and Honorary President of the Afghan Veterans Movement of the Southern Federal District (SFD).
