Chechnya is ranked last in teachers' salaries

In Chechnya, the school teachers' average salaries are the lowest among Russian regions; in other regions of the North-Caucasian and the Southern Federal Districts (NCFD and SFD), it is also lower than the Russia's national average: it follows from the "Rosstat" (Russian Federal State Statistics Service) data for January-June 2022.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that according to the data for June 2021-May 2022, Chechnya took the penultimate place in Russia in terms of the number of residents with above-average salaries. There are only 10.1% of such citizens in the republic. The average salary in the country was 52,000 roubles, the RIA "Novosti" reported.

In the first six months of 2022, Chechnya fixed the lowest teachers' salaries in the country; in Chechnya, the average monthly salary of a school teacher is 26,712 roubles, according to the "Rosstat" website. At the same time, in January-June 2022, the average teacher's salary in Russia was 57,067 roubles.

Other regions and republics of Northern Caucasus also have the average teachers' salaries below the Russia's average: in Dagestan – 35,684 roubles per month; in Ingushetia – 30,015 roubles; in Kabardino-Balkaria – 33,739 roubles; in Karachay-Cherkessia – 30,091 roubles, in North Ossetia – 34,129 roubles, and in the Stavropol Territory – 36,743 roubles.
