Instagram* users support fight against begging in Chechnya

The Grozny police held a preventive conversation with women who were engaged in begging. Social media users have expressed their support for such actions and emphasized the need to fight not only with visiting beggars, but also with residents of Chechnya who go begging.

In a video posted on the “Grozny” TV Channel’s page on Instagram*, policemen are reprimanding six women who “came from neighbouring regions or neighbouring countries.” According to Grozny policeman Shamkhan Djabrailov, eleven residents of the CIS countries were deported from the city in July alone.

In their comments on the social media, users supported the actions of the police.

Let us remind you that today, President Vladimir Putin has announced that the tasks are being solved in Chechnya to improve the socio-economic situation and improve the quality of life. According to the “Rosstat” (Federal State Statistics Service), in early 2022, 297,900 residents of Chechnya (19.5% of the population) lived below the poverty line.
