Participant in Chechen war publicly apologizes for Russian anthem with LGBT flag

Sergey Nechaev, a participant in the military campaign in Chechnya, recorded a video apologizing for performing the Russian anthem with an LGBT flag in a gay club. The author has stated that he apologizes voluntarily after a conversation with members of some ultra-right movement.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the practice of public apologies adopted in Chechnya at the suggestion of Ramzan Kadyrov has spread over to other Russian regions.

At the demand of members of the above ultra-right movement, Sergey Nechaev, a Ekaterinburg performer, acting in a female image under the pseudonym "Bomba Kibersisi", has apologized for performing the Russian anthem with an LGBT flag in his hands, while calling himself a participant in the hostilities in Chechnya, the "It's My City" outlet has reported.

The performance, in which Nechaev sang the Russian anthem while holding an LGBT flag, took place on August 7 at the "Fame" gay club in Ekaterinburg.

Nechaev has explained that he wanted to demonstrate patriotism and support for the state.
