Dagestani native Arthur Ilyaskhanov leaves Nizhnevartovsk after threats from Chechnya

Arthur Ilyaskhanov, a native of Dagestan, who served his arrest after an incident in a Yugra store and claimed receiving threats from members of the Chechen community, announced his departure from Nizhnevartovsk. His mother came for him.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on July 23, Arthur Ilyaskhanov, a 37-year-old resident of Khasavyurt, broke bottles in a store in protest that he was not sold alcohol. The man also insulted a Russian employee of the store. Arthur Ilyaskhanov also questioned the effectiveness of the actions of the Russian army in Ukraine. Members of the Chechen community met Arthur Ilyaskhanov, while Ombudsperson Abbaz Abdulkhazhiev stated that there were plans to take Arthur Ilyaskhanov to Chechnya, where “leverage would be found” against him.

On July 25, a video with the Arthur Ilyaskhanov’s apology was posted on the Internet. A court arrested him for 15 days, finding him guilty of inciting hatred or enmity. Arthur Ilyaskhanov feared that after serving his arrest he would be taken to Chechnya. The man explained that he received threats from members of the Chechen community.

Let us remind you that on July 28, Ramzan Kadyrov threatened with forced public works the natives of Chechnya who “disgrace their people” outside the republic.
