Azerbaijani Shiites outraged by attack on embassy in London

Last night, about 2000 Shiite Muslims held a protest in Baku at which they demanded from British authorities to improve the security of the Azerbaijani Embassy in London after it was attacked by members of a Shiite extremist organization.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 4, unidentified persons, who attacked the Azerbaijani Embassy to Great Britain raised religious flags and began shouting radical religious slogans from the balcony of the building. British law enforcers detained eight attackers.

Last night, about 2000 Shiite Muslims gathered for a protest in Baku near the "Mashadi Dadash" Mosque. Some of them held flags of Azerbaijan. They demanded from British authorities to guarantee the safety of Azerbaijani diplomats, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The protest action was triggered by the seizure of the Azerbaijani Embassy in London by members of the Shiite extremist organization "Union of Makhdi Servants". The protesters in Baku were outraged by the fact that extremists dropped the flag of Azerbaijan from the embassy building in London.
