Kadyrov reveals new details about Chechen battalions

The creation of battalions, which will be part of the Russian Ministry of Defence, will create 1800 jobs in the republic, the leader of Chechnya reports.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on June 26, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov announced that four military battalions – “Sever-Akhmat”, “Yug-Akhmat”, “Zapad-Akhmat”, and “Vostok-Akhmat” – would be formed in Chechnya and would include “exclusively Chechen guys.” Two battalions – “Vostok-Akhmat” and “Zapad-Akhmat” – have already been manned, the “Chechnya Segodnya” (Chechnya Today)” reported on June 28.

Those wishing to join the new battalions of the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) will undergo a full course of combat and march drill training, and they will also be provided with uniforms and special equipment, Ramzan Kadyrov announces. “The guys will take a course of necessary training on the territory of the Russian University of Special Forces. Good conditions have been created for them,” the “Grozny Inform” news agency quoted the leader of Chechnya as saying.

Ramzan Kadyrov also added that the creation of new battalions would help solve unemployment problems. “The formation of four battalions will help create additional 1800 jobs in the republic. Today, to immediately employ so many people, we would need to spend billions of roubles to create factories,” said  the leader of Chechnya as quoted by the “Grozny Inform” news agency.
