Law enforcers threaten to persecute relatives of "Fortanga" editor-in-chief in Ingushetia

While interrogating relatives of Isabella Evloeva, the editor-in-chief of the "Fortanga" oppositional Ingush outlet, law enforcers tried to find out the whereabouts of Isabella, who is accused within the case of spreading fakes about the Russian Army. Law enforcers intend to constantly question her relatives, while she was engaged in journalism, Ms Evloeva herself has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that a criminal case was opened against Evloeva for spreading false information about the use of the Russian Army after she had placed a post about the involvement of children in a rally in support of the special operation in Ukraine. On June 7, it became known that law enforcers had searched the house of Evloeva's parents. On July 6, she informed that her father-in-law was detained by law enforcers in Ingushetia at a funeral and interrogated.

According to Evloeva, law enforcers tried to find out her whereabouts. "They asked how my parents felt about my work. They wanted to know my exact location. They said that while I was doing journalism, one way or another they would be 'forced to bother' my relatives. They also asked my father-in-law about the whereabouts of my husband. They wanted to know the city and the country. My husband's cousin was asked the same questions when he was summoned to 'Centre E' two weeks ago," she has added.
