Azerbaijan sends 50 tons of humanitarian cargo to Ukraine

An aircraft with 50 tons of humanitarian cargo for Ukraine left Baku for Warsaw. Humanitarian aid provided by the executive authorities of the Azerbaijani city of Sumgait is intended for residents of the Ukrainian city of Cherkassy.

On July 5, a humanitarian cargo for Ukraine weighing 50 tons was sent by an aircraft of the Azerbaijani airline AZAL from Baku to Warsaw.

The humanitarian aid provided by the executive authorities of the city of Sumgait included food products with a long shelf life, baby food, medicines, and clothes, the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent was told in the Sumgait city administration.

“Sumgait and Cherkassy are sister cities. And in connection with the official appeal of the administration of Cherkassy to the executive authorities of Sumgait, we sent humanitarian aid to this Ukrainian city. The humanitarian aid includes food products, baby food, drugs, medicines, and clothes for children and adults,” said an official of the Sumgait city administration.

Let us remind you that on the night of March 19, a batch of humanitarian aid in the amount of 30 tons was sent to residents of Kyiv by the Baku City Mayoralty. The humanitarian aid was collected by the administrations of the city districts and local residents.
