At a solo picket in Makhachkala, Kaplanov’s father demand to punish murderers of his son
Yusup Kaplanov went out to a solo picket with the demand to punish those responsible for the murder of his son Abakar Kaplanov, the former head of the village of Novokuli. Yusup Kaplanov called on the leader of Dagestan to restore justice and bring to responsibility the investigators who were delaying the investigation.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on February 6, 2021, Abakar Kaplanov, a 34-year-old MMA fighter, was shot dead in the building of a Makhachkala police department. Brothers Salman and Suleiman Kurbanov, two employees of the National Guard of Russia, are accused of the murder. The brothers themselves plead not guilty.
The weekly newspaper “Chernovik” (Rough Draft) reports on its Telegram channel that Yusup Kaplanov believes the law enforcement bodies cover up for the law enforcers suspected of killing his son, who left five children.
Earlier, journalists have reported that the land conflict, which allegedly became the reason for the Abakar Kaplanov’s murder, lasted for many years. The conflict was not resolved because of a lack of trust in the court and the law enforcement bodies, suggested Gadjimurad Sagidov, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Novoe Delo” (New Clause). “People do not see justice in public institutions, so they commit lynching,” Gadjimurad Sagidov said.
According to Ramazan Radjabov, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Youth of Dagestan”, the murder of Abakar Kaplanov was not deliberate.
