Georgia allows Insa Lander to leave for Lithuania

The Georgian authorities have allowed Insa Lander, a blogger from the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) to enter the republic, from where she flew to Lithuania.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Insa Oguz, a blogger from Baksan, known under the pseudonym of "Insa Lander", escaped from house arrest and on June 12 tried to leave for Georgia through North Ossetia, but Georgian border guards did not let her through; and the blogger remained in the neutral territory between the two countries. The Georgian laws allow those who are prosecuted for terrorism to be denied entry, the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has explained. Andrius Kalindra, the Lithuanian Ambassador to Georgia, said that Lithuania was ready to transport Insa Lander to Vilnius and provide her with a visa if her problem on the Georgian border is resolved.

On December 9, 2021, Insa Lander was detained on suspicion of assisting terrorism.

"The situation was settled on June 27, when Georgia allowed me to cross the land border. On June 28, I flew to Lithuania," the "Kavkaz. Realii" has quoted her as saying.

She also reported feeling unwell after a two-week-long stay at the Russian-Georgian border.
