Chechen authorities report reconciliation of blood feudists

The two families, who had been at war for 10 years because of the death of a young man, have reconciled with the mediation of the Muftiate, the "Grozny" TV Channel has reported.

Authorities of Chechnya are periodically reporting about reconciliation of warring families. Thus, on February 10, 2020, two families reconciled in the Vedeno District, which had been in a blood feud for 25 years. Criminals' relatives had turned to Ramzan Kadyrov.

In Chechnya, families from the Gudermes and Kurchaloi Districts, who were at enmity over the death of a young man from the Midaev family, have reconciled, the "Grozny" TV reported on the Instagram*.

Ansar Khetiev, Deputy Mufti of Chechnya, spoke on behalf of the perpetrator and his relatives and asked to forgive the young man.

It should be noted that despite the fight against the blood feud custom, which is declared by Chechen authorities, in 2019, Magomed Daudov, Speaker of Chechen Parliament, declared blood feud against the popular blogger, Tumso Abdurakhmanov, for the latter's words about Akhmat Kadyrov.
