Police stop protest rally of parents of political emigrant Tural Sadygly in Baku

The parents of Tural Sadygly, an Azerbaijani political emigrant and blogger, went out to a protest in front of the presidential administration building in Baku, but the police did not allow them to hold it. The life of Tural Sadygly, who is sharply criticizing Azerbaijani authorities, is in danger, his parents assert.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Tural Sadygly is the administrator of the "Azad söz" (Free Word) page on the Facebook, where he sharply criticizes Azerbaijani authorities' policies. In 2015, his brother, Elgin Sadygly, was arrested and charged with drug dealing. He was sentenced conditionally and was re-arrested in 2018 after Tural Sadygly launched his international "Let's talk about dictator" campaign in protest against early presidential election in Azerbaijan. In May 2019, the prosecutor's office opened a case against Tural Sadygly.

His father, Alovsat Sadygly, has stated that Azerbaijani authorities had sent killers to Europe.

Tural Sadygly has been living in Germany for several years, where he was granted political asylum; he is one of the critics of Azeri government.

Let us add here that this January, the Baku Police put Tural Sadygly, who lives in Europe, on the wanted list; and a criminal case was initiated against him under an article of a fraud, the "24 saat" has reported.
