"Beslan Mothers": power officers will be amnestied

Another court session is over in Nalchik, the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria, on the case of power officers of the Pravoberezhny ROVD (District Interior Unit).

At one of the court sessions on the case of Beslan ROVD commanders (North Ossetia), the defendants lodged a petition asking that the amnesty should be applied to them as to the militiamen who worked in the zone of a counterterrorist operation. Unexpectedly, the State Office of Public Prosecutor supported the petition, causing protests in the members of the "Beslan Mothers" Committee. In their opinion, during the storm the militiamen had admitted criminal negligence that had entailed death of people. Probably, the court will pass its decision on the fate of the defendants on Tuesday, May 29. Rima Turginova, representative of the "Beslan Mothers," reported the story to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

She also added that the Committee has no doubts that the court will satisfy the petition of the power officers of the Pravoberezhny ROVD, and the militiamen will be amnestied.
