Dismissed "Rosgvardiya" fighters explain refusal to take part in special operation

The fighter of the "Rosgvardiya" (Russian National Guard) from the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), dismissed after leaving the special operation zone in Ukraine, have stated that they had not violated their contracts, since the command failed to order to continue combat actions.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 11, a lawsuit demanding to treat the dismissal from military service as illegal was lodged to the Nalchik Military Court. The claimant is a group of 115 former "Rosgvardiya" fighters; similar lawsuits were filed by other 24 persons.

The dismissed fighters refuse to plead guilty and claim they were given a choice – to stay in the war zone or return to the place of their permanent deployment. They chose the latter option and insist that they had not violated the terms of their contracts.

"The reason for my decision to leave was the grave health condition of my parents; I am also the father of three young children and the only breadwinner. I refuse to plead guilty, since I performed the duties assigned to me in the course of the special combat mission," one of the former "Rosgvardiya" fighters has written.
