Armenian serviceman perishes in combat position

The body of a soldier, Armen Egiyan, was found at one of the combat positions; the circumstances of his death are being investigated, the Armenian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 11, 2021, one soldier was killed in a military unit in Southern Armenia; two others were wounded in a shooting; the suspect was detained. In September 2021, an Armenian military serviceman was suspected of killing one and wounding another colleague. The shooting occurred while on duty at a combat post. The increase in the number of non-combat casualties in military units indicates systemic problems in the Armenian Army, the participants in the discussion held in Yerevan believe.

At one of the combat positions in the eastern direction, the body of a soldier of the Armenian Armed Forces of with a gunshot wound was found. The deceased is the 20-year-old Armen Egiyan, the Armenian MoD has informed today, adding that an investigation is underway to define the circumstances of soldier's death.
