Activist Grodnikova complains of regular disruption of her pickets

The police have released the activist, Tamara Grodnikova, who was detained at a picket in Volgograd against the law on foreign agents; this was her ninth detention since the start of the special operation in Ukraine. Ms Grodnikova filed an application to the name of the head of the police department, in which she asked to investigate the reasons for the regular disruption of her solo pickets that are allowed by the law.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 28, Tamara Grodnikova went out to a solo picket against the law on foreign agents and demanded not to be prosecuted for holding public actions permitted by the law. Policemen detained her after checking her documents.

Tamara Grodnikova has noted that she had spent less than three hours at the police station. "They again seized my posters for examination; I learned that they would be sent to the Ministry of Justice. At detention, they told me that some anonymous citizens had called the police, stating that I had organized an unsanctioned rally," she told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Ms Grodnikova has noted that today she filed three applications to the name of the police boss, in which she demanded to find and punish those responsible for the disruption of her solo pickets.

In one of the applications (a copy thereof is at the disposal of the "Caucasian Knot"), the activist indicated that from February 25 to April 20, she was taken to the police eight times. "In each case, my legitimate political action was disrupted by policemen," she has stated.

The application also emphasizes that Tamara was holding "a legal action permitted in Russia – a solo picket".
