Participants of march from Tigranashen to Yerevan demand Pashinyan’s resignation

Opponents of Nikol Pashinyan marched from the village of Tigranashen in the Ararat Region to Yerevan. They demand to prevent the transfer of Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenian territories to Azerbaijan.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on April 25, oppositionists and their supporters started a march from Idjevan in the Tavush Region to Yerevan, demanding to prevent any reconsideration of the status of Nagorno-Karabakh. In Yerevan, the youth wing of the Republican Party of Armenia tried to hold a protest action in front of the central office of the ruling “Civil Contract” Party with the demand of the resignation of the Prime Minister of Armenia. On the evening of April 25, during the march in Yerevan, about 3000 people demanded the resignation of the government, organizers of the action reported. Today, the protests in Yerevan have continued, and at least six persons have been detained.

A group of activists has left the village of Tigranashen in the Ararat Region of Armenia and is heading to Yerevan in a procession with the demand of the Nikol Pashinyan’s resignation. The activists called their action a “march of unification.” According to the activists, they started their march by analogy with the procession of oppositionists, who are also marching from Idjevan to Yerevan with the same demands.

According to Anna Grigoryan, an MP from the “Hayastan” (Armenia) opposition faction, Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia are going through fateful days, and it is necessary to unite in order to withstand external challenges. “In order to be able to withstand external challenges, we must remove those who have undertaken to leave Artsakh (the self-name of Nagorno-Karabakh, – note of the ‘Caucasian Knot) as part of Azerbaijan, those who are ready (..) to cede territory (to Azerbaijan) every day,” said Anna Grigoryan on air of the “PARA TV” as translated from Armenian by the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.
