Restrictions on flights to cities of Southern Russia extended

Airports in the cities of the Krasnodar Territory, Kalmykia, and the Rostov Region will not be able to receive and send flights until April 19, the Federal Air Transport Agency, also known as “Rosaviatsiya”, reports.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on March 2, the operation of airports in Southern Russia, including in Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar, Anapa, Gelendzhik, Elista, and Stavropol, was suspended after the start of the special military operation in Ukraine. Later, the ban on flights to Stavropol was lifted, but restrictions on the operation of other airports were repeatedly extended, most recently until April 13.

The “Rosaviatsiya” announces that the restrictions on flights in Southern and Central Russia have been extended for another week.

“Until 3:45 Moscow time on April 19, 2022, the temporary restriction on flights to 11 Russian airports has been extended, including to Anapa, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Gelendzhik, Krasnodar, Kursk, Lipetsk, Rostov-on-Don, Simferopol, and Elista,” the “Rosaviatsiya” reports on its official website.

The “Rosaviatsiya” recommends that Russian airlines organize the transportation of passengers on alternative routes using the airports of Sochi, Volgograd, Mineralnye Vody, Stavropol, and Moscow, the website reports.
