Ilya Smolin's father accuses law enforcers of unwillingness to investigate his son's death

For the third month now, the case of the death of Ilya Smolin, a resident of Yeysk, has not been investigated; and law enforcers are getting off with replies, Oleg Smolin, Ilya's father, has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Ilya Smolin, a resident of the Krasnodar Territory, died after detention in Yeysk. According to the police, the death was caused by his heart problems; however, his parents drew attention to the haematomas on the body of their son and demanded a prosecutor's check of the circumstances of his death.

On March 15, Oleg Smolin, Ilya's father, received a response to his appeal with a demand to check the death of his son. The response, in particular, states that "an investigation into the causes and circumstances of Ilya Smolin's death is being underway."

Oleg Smolin has reported that he had been waiting for an answer for a long time and hoped that, in hot pursuit, law enforcers would manage to establish the reasons of his son's death, but instead he actually received a buck slip. "For the third month now, the case has not actually been investigated; it looks like it is done on purpose to hide all the crime traces. I have lost all hope and faith to achieve justice and identify my son's killers," Oleg Smolin has stated.
