Russian Red Cross was searched

Today, the employees of the Department for Tax Crimes under the Department of Internal Affairs of the South-West Administrative District of Moscow have confiscated documents from the central office of the Russian Red Cross (RRC). The search was held under the initiated criminal case, the "Gazeta.Ru" reports with reference to the "Interfax." According to a source at the RRC, some RRC officials had been earlier interrogated by inspectors under the same criminal case.

According to the investigation, during the period from January 1 to December 31, 2005, the leaders of the Russian Red Cross understated the taxable base of the profit tax of the organization and thus evaded from payment of the tax to the total sum of 19.7 million roubles.
