Azerbaijan reports about a shelling attack from Armenia

The Armenian armed forces shelled the positions of the Azerbaijani army near the border with the Tovuz District, and there are no losses from the Azerbaijani side, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Azerbaijan reports.

“On January 27, units of the Armenian armed forces used their positions in the town of Chinarly in the Tovuzgala District (the Tavush Region of Armenia, – note of the ‘Caucasian Knot') of the state border for regular shelling attacks on the positions of the Azerbaijani army in the direction of the village of Kokhanebi in the Tovuz District,” the press service of the Azerbaijan’s MoD reported.

According to the MoD of Azerbaijan, the units of the Azerbaijani army took appropriate measures and suffered no losses.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on January 11, the MoD of Azerbaijan reported about the death of a soldier in the Kelbadjar District as a result of a shelling attack from Armenia. The Ministry of Defence of Armenia accused Azerbaijan of shelling attacks. On January 11, Armenian military officials reported that two soldiers had been killed and he two others were wounded. On January 12, the body of the third dead Armenian soldier was found. Later, Azerbaijan announced that the Armenian military forces had been shelling the positions of the Azerbaijani army in the Kelbadjar and Tovuz Districts with small arms and heavy machine guns throughout the night.
