During a day, the petition with the demand to prevent the liquidation of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) “Memorial”* and the “International Memorial”* gained 4900 more signatures, and the total number of signatories exceeded 110,000.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on November 12, after the lawsuits for the liquidation of the HRC “Memorial”* and the “International Memorial”*, the electronic petition “Hands off Memorial*!” was posted on the “Change.org” website in support of both organizations.

On November 25, the proceedings on the lawsuit for the liquidation of the “International Memorial”* were started by the Supreme Court (SC) of Russia. The petition “Hands off the Memorial*!” posted on the “Change.org” website states that one of its main tasks is to consolidate the protest public opinion and support “public defenders legally working in the organizations in the interests of the past, present, and future of citizens of Russia.” Today, by 12:55 p.m. Moscow time, the petition gained 110,247 signatures.

* The organization has been put by the Russian Ministry of Justice (MoJ) on the register of NCOs performing the functions of foreign agents.
